The LHS Choir recently had their “A Global Journey” fall concert on Oct. 11. Three of Liberty’s choir (Select Treble Choir, Chamber Choir, Concert Choir), all came together for the event.

Junior Connor Higlen speaks on the importance of the choir.

“Each and every one of our songs is from a different culture around the world. Music brings us together and I believe that bringing different  cultures into the mix is also a good thing,” he explained.

Higlen speaks about his personal favorite song from the concert.

“My favorite song was If ‘Ye Love Me’ because there’s a part in the middle where we come in unison after splitting. It gives me chills every time. I also just love slow songs,” he said.

Senior Logan Honerkamp spoke about his favorite song during the concert.

“My favorite was ‘Yonder Come Day’ because all the choirs sang in unison. [Mr. Datz] taught each class individually and Monday we did it together and you could tell we were all passionate about it,” he said.

Sophomore Brandt Cleppe enjoyed the experience. “Honestly it’s really exciting, it’s really exhilarating, it’s really fun,”  he stated. “The songs are so powerful, and they all have good meaning, and they’re all just fun to sing, and share with other people,” he said.
