We always think that we students are the only ones with stress. But have you ever thought about how stressed teachers are?

To release some of that stress, French teacher Ms. Farrelly has created a yoga club specialized for teachers.

Members participate for 45 minutes led by Ms. Farrelly. They do gentle yoga to relax, decompress and stretch in that time.

“Teachers and counselors are often in need of some decompression time, and we can all use some more stretching,” Ms. Farrelly said. “After talking to a few colleagues, they all agreed this would be a fun way to relax together.”

Many teachers enjoy just getting together with other teachers to destress together.

“I also love the idea of getting together with fellow teachers to chill after school by doing yoga. I think we all need this in our lives to de-stress,” Mrs. Oliva said.

There were 25 participants who were interested and 13 showed up to the first session.  They meet every Thursday once a week.

These sessions will hopefully reduce the stress of some teachers and take some time off to just relax from school.
