There are a lot of interesting and fun filled classrooms in our school that are beloved by students.

Mr. Hall points to the encased Doritos bag by his desk which was given to him by the very first yearbook editor. Mr. Eversole stands next to an Iron Giant poster made by a previous student.

After a long tiring day at school there is always that one classroom that as soon as you step in all of your worries go away for that class period. Close your eyes now, can you picture it? What does it look like? What does it have? Well from murals on walls and colorful pens to squishmallows and couches there’s a lot of cool things you can find in the classrooms of Liberty. In this story we talk about some of Liberty’s beloved classrooms and the teacher’s in them.

Each classroom is decorated in a way that not only represents the teacher and their class but also allows for students to learn and grow. Mr. Hall’s room is widely known for its heavily decorated nature from a wall filled with photos to a word grave for words that can longer be used in stories. Mr. Hall has been lucky to be in the same room for a long time allowing him to customize his room to fit his students needs and provide a comfortable learning environment.

“I think it is the single most important component of teaching is to create an inviting and warm atmosphere for students to learn. It is very important to me as a teacher, and especially as I’ve become more experienced, that creating a space where students feel welcome and wanting to learn is important,” Hall explained.

The fun and inviting classroom environment is not only important for the teacher, but is also very important and impactful for students. Magazine student Taylor Koehnemann has been in Mr. Hall’s classroom for the past three years taking Intro to Journalism his sophomore year and Magazine his junior and senior year. Taylor talked about Mr. Hall’s classroom and how it has always been a comforting class to be in.

“Honestly, I’ve been in a lot of classrooms throughout my time at Liberty considering that I am senior, but Mr. Hall’s class kind of has a different feel to it. It feels like home, not everything is perfect but that’s what makes it a comfortable environment and it’s fun too. I can walk in and I instantly get a rush of positivity. My favorite part of Mr. Hall’s class is definitely the photo wall. There’s a lot of personality to it. Sometimes I just stare up there while I think about different stories or page designs. It is definitely a highlight of this classroom,” Koehnemann stated.

A good classroom will forever have a positive impact on its students and be a long lasting memory in one’s lives. Sometimes a good classroom could be the difference on whether you pay attention in class or become bored and distracted. Luckily our school is no short of amazing teachers who are dedicated to making their classrooms a nurturing and inspiring learning environment for their students. There are definitely amazing classrooms that you have never even seen or been in before at our school. All of them are just waiting for you to take that class and open that door.
