The first few weeks of spring sports just past full of high hopes and fun.
It was a very interesting start with a mix of unsettled weather. The very first day was perfect with slight wind but the next two days were very rainy and very cold and then it was almost perfect weather for the rest of the week.
Boys Tennis
It’s been a good start to the practice season for boys tennis.
“We have to manage the weather, you know being an outdoor sport the past two days we have not been able to get outside, but not bad at all,” coach Teo Campos said. “The guys were able to keep their run and their timing was where I thought they would be and just to see the new people getting used to our routine and understanding what their purpose is when we go out there and try out for practices.”
Track and Field
Track is a sport that welcomes all, getting right to business and working hard even on the days that were not so

great.
“We have a lot of really really good returners, quite a few state meet people from last year and obviously we are looking to see them improve, but we have a really good group of freshmen it looks like and we have a couple of freshmen who look like they could play a pretty big role in our varsity spots,” head coach Toby Glavin said.
Boys Volleyball
Good work from all of the track athletes. Boys volleyball is a new sport to Liberty being its second year.
“I love being able to hang out with the team it has been fun,” Zane Mahler (9) said.
It is not just the coaches who are having fun, most of the athletes are having a great time as well.
Baseball
Baseball a very competitive sport just to get on the team all of the athletes trying their best just to get on the team.
“It’s been great. We are pretty excited,” coach Dan Wheeler said. “We have a great group of seniors from when they were freshmen and we had an undefeated season, the only undefeated season in the history of Liberty High School. We’re just ready to play, we’re very excited.”
Boys Golf
Boys golf is a very underrated sport in our program and it looks like this year we have some big shots at state.
“In general the week has gone fantastic, outside of battling a little bit of bad weather during tryouts. We’ve had more young men than we’ve ever had come out and we are excited with the group we have,” coach Jacob Cole said.

Girls Soccer
Girls soccer has been putting in the work to be able to make it to the top spot on the varsity team.
“The team has been working really well together,” JV/varsity manager, Kayla Coleman (11) said.
All of the athletes have been putting in the work and has been able to do as much as they can even with the bad weather.
