The Liberty football team will host their first playoff game in school history this Friday as they play Francis Howell North at 7 p.m.

After dropping their regular-season finale to Holt 42-21 this past week, the Eagles come into the game with a 3-6 record while Howell North is 0-9.

The winner will travel to Fort Zumwalt North on Nov. 2. Zumwalt North is 8-1 has a bye this week.

“Every team in Gateway Athletic Conference (GAC) qualifies for the playoffs,” popular hall monitor Mr. Wheeler said. “Week 10 in high school football is first round of playoffs.”

In the past, Liberty has always traveled to their district game.

On Monday, many students are unaware of the home game.

“I’m excited for the Eagles,” Wheeler said. “They have a very, very good chance to win this game.”

The players are anticipating their next game. Win, and their season continues. Lose, and the season is over.

“I’m pretty glad it’s at Liberty and it’s really exciting,” junior and varsity football player Ben Adelsberger said.
