The Eagles started off the year on a winning note being one of the most successful teams in the GAC central. From winning their first game of 2019 on a buzzer beater by senior Chase Hoeber to beating Zumwalt East by 40 points. Liberty’s only two losses in nine games came to a number one seed DeSmet team in a tournament at Parkway West and Timberland on the last game of the month. As junior Jayce Catchings had a winning shot against Zumwalt North, he had another month to remember ending January with the most points per game in the conference. The Eagles will head into February looking to win the conference and prepare for the district tournament at the end of the month.
