Homecoming is alway such an exciting event for high school students aside from prom. Homecoming gives students a night to dress up and express themselves.

A lot of people struggle to find dresses for homecoming. As a high school student myself, I know the struggle. Over some years, I’ve tried finding the most reliable, and best quality dresses but also on the cheaper side.

My personal top three is: Lulu’s, Von Maur, and everyone’s favorite Windsor. Even visiting your local Goodwill is a good option. You can never go wrong looking for dresses there. Goodwill can be hit or miss, but typically they will put things out on the floor that are current, and that people can find use in looking at.

Junior Kyley Henry is one of many students who went dress shopping this year.

Q: Where did you get your dress this year and previous years?

Kyley Henry: “For freshman year and sophomore year, I got both of my dresses from Windsor.”

Q: How much was your dress and what color is it?

Kyley Henry: “My dress this year was $60 and my dress is a really pretty deep green color.”

Q: Do you think the price of the dress matters for homecoming?

Kyley Henry: “For me personally, it doesn’t matter the price, but for some girls it definitely does.”

Q: How do you feel about homecoming originally announced as taking place on the football field and not being able to wear heels?

Kyley Henry: “I feel like it will be awkward for some and just a really different experience and I understand that it’s because of Covid, but I feel like there could have been different alternatives.”

Q: Do you think there is a competition between the girls on who has the “better dress?”

Kyley Henry: “I think definitely for some girls there would be a competition but for me, no it doesn’t matter.”
