Coming to Liberty’s stage on March 3-5 is “Mamma Mia,” the musical. Based on the popular movie “Mamma Mia,” the story takes audiences on a funny, entertaining, and on the edge-of-your-seat adventure as the main character, Sophie tries to find out who her father is, out of three men.

The show, which was originally scheduled for the fall, was postponed due to scheduling conflicts. It was replaced in the theater schedule with “The Complete Works of Shakespeare,” which was a fan favorite.

The tech crew has started on the set for “Mamma Mia” over the past month, working hard to give us the best show they can. “Mama Mia’s” set brings a new element to the stage this year. The show will view a changing set during the show.

“We are figuring out the best way to build it for the actors to dance and sing on,” said junior Amanda Speciale, the stage manager.

Emotions are high with rehearsals, choreography, and design.

“I’m excited about it, I think it’s going to be fun, and probably the biggest set that we have done in a couple of years,” Speciale said.

The cast and crew are also working hard after school to provide a great show coming this spring.

“So far I think the cast and crew are doing a really good job, so I think all together it will look good,” said lighting crew member, freshman Rachel Church.
