Erinn Gomillion has become a familiar face for students and staff around the building, After being hired as the new student center secretary last spring, she’s already made an impact on the staff and students at Liberty. Her strong social skills, bright smile, and amazing attitude makes Liberty a better environment everyday.
“She’s a great addition to Liberty. She’s a team player and she’s willing to help whenever she can,” principal secretary Lisa Berghoff said.
Gomillion didn’t envision herself working in the position she is in.
“I never in a million years thought I would be working at a high school,” Gomillion said.
She previously was a manager for the cable company, Spectrum. According to Gomillion herself, she worked very long hours and even though she misses some aspects of it, Liberty is a better fit for her lifestyle. She has two children in elementary school and says that she likes being on almost the same schedule as them because it works out better.
She also likes the job for other reasons including the people, the environment, and the occasional free food and drinks staff receives to show our appreciation for what they do.
According to Liberty’s school nurse, Melissa Simms, Gomillion is more than just a secretary.
There’s a lot that goes on in the nurses office during the school year and with Gomillion and Simms working in neighboring offices, Simms shows her appreciation for Gomillion’s kind heart.
“If we have any emergencies in the clinic, she’ll just step in and be an extra set of hands if we need her,” Simms said. “She’s wonderful.”
Outside of work, Gomillion enjoys being a mom to her two daughters and participating in artistic activities like painting and drawing.
She’s excited to continue working at Liberty and with her upbeat personality, she’ll continue to be a very valuable member of the staff and make an impact on the school’s environment everyday.
