Our Goal
Your donation will support the student journalists of Liberty High School. For the 2025-26 school year, we are trying to purchase additional cameras and video equipment for our growing media program. We also plan to attend the national journalism conference in Orlando in November 2026.

Kay Cooper, Reporter
Kay Cooper is a sophomore and in their second year of publications. They are working to film and report on anything interesting happening around Liberty and tell a story. Cooper loves creating and performing as he is a part of colorguard and enjoys the rush of being in front of a crowd. Cooper is also president of GSA and hopes to create a space for everyone and hope his videos can spread awareness of the community around us. They hope to pursue journalism in the future and potentially go to college for it.
August Deters, Reporter
August Deters is a sophomore, and he is in his first year in a journalism class. He enjoys the arts, spending his free time drawing. He has been in theatre for nearly four years, one of his favorite forms of expression. He has experience editing videos, and excels the most in writing and reading. He enjoys writing poetry about his life experiences. He loves to spend time with his cats and siblings.
Alix Jones, Reporter
Alix Jones is a freshman and he created the 2024-2025 yearbook video for the Frontier Middle School yearbook in 8th grade. In his free time, he likes to create music in his band called “Something Of Nothing,” and also loves to craft. In school, he is known for being in Color Guard, Theater, Choir, and any other extracurriculars that he finds enjoyable. At times, you may also find him around the school, practicing ukulele and making new riffs. Whether it be during lunch, Nest time, or waiting for a ride after school, you can always see him with his uke on his back.
MaryKate Stroud, Photo Editor
MaryKate Stroud is a junior, and this is her second year in Publications. MaryKate is one of the managers for girls Varsity Basketball. MaryKate is also the President for FCCLA, apart of Light House Leadership Team and National Honor Society. MaryKate enjoys doing sports photography and traveling. MaryKate currently works at Kinetic Park. MaryKate plans on going to college after high school and is currently indecisive on where she wants to go, but she knows that she wants to go for broadcasting and human resources.
