Booster Club hosted not only their largest event of the year, but one of the largest holiday fairs in St. Charles County on Nov. 10.

The Holiday Bazaar is an event where people that are looking to get into the holiday spirit can come and buy items from various vendors.

Preparation for this event is year round. Booster Club started booking this year’s events on the day of last year’s event.

This year the volunteer request was 144 spots. Along with the people outside of the school that signed up, the Liberty faculty also volunteered to help with the pancake breakfast.

They also have an application process that the vendors have to go through. This year there actually ended up with a waiting list for vendors, because there wasn’t enough space.

“This is a great problem to have and I’m super excited that our event has grown to be something that local crafters want to be part of,” chairperson and vice president of Booster Club, Keli Stone said.

They really focus on the small details because that’s what makes a difference for the shoppers and crafters.

Clubs and students also worked on projects for weeks before the event took place.

Mrs. Sachs’ class made all the snowflakes that hung from the ceiling, and Student Council made the backdrop for Santa.

Along with the small details that had to take place, a total of seven clubs set up tables for the event and two more are providing a service to shoppers.

Some of the clubs and sports that participated were: HOSA, NHS, Key Club, Liberty Belles, Student Council, Robotics, All of Us Club, Boys Soccer, Educators Rising, Cheer, Baseball, Track, Football, ASC, Wrestling, Cross Country and Color Guard.

Junior Katie May helped set up from the Bazaar the night before.

“There was a lot to do but when I left it looked really good,” she said.

Junior Lexi Bentley worked Santa’s workshop with DECA. As the photographer took the pictures, he gave them to her and she was in charge of printing and handing them out to the families.

“It was a lot of fun. My favorite part was seeing how happy the parents were when they got the pictures of their kids back. The atmosphere was just really fun to be around,” Bentley said.

This year the goal was to raise $10,000, after raising $8,000 in 2017.

All of the money that is raised goes to the Booster club. They then grant requests by Liberty’s sports teams and clubs.

“Without the amazing support of Liberty’s administration, staff and student body, this would not be possible,” Stone said.
