BUS DRIVERS NEEDED!

Lawson Murphree, Reporter

With not as many drivers to fit the needs for after-school activities, the Wentzville School District’s after school activity bus was recently stopped at all three high schools by the district.

There is a shortage of bus drivers to drive kids to school and back home in time.

Activities director Mr. Eldredge says that there is a chance that it may return by November at the latest. On September 6th, the activity bus stopped and has not been used since because of the shortage of bus drivers and trying to find drivers for the activity side of school.

“We do not have enough drivers to drive after school and get back here by 3:30,” he said. The main reason he says this is because the elementary kids need a ride but if they try doing that it would set them back by a half an hour and no buses for the elementary school kids to ride on.

Antonio Cruz, a sophomore, who has been affected by the activity bus crisis, stays after school for Academic Assist and Gaming Club.

“It will be a lot harder to attend the after school activities,” Cruz said. “I will be going home more often than usual.”

The students are making some changes to after school activities. For example, Gaming Club is on hiatus and many other clubs and activities are on pause until the bus is running again.
