Have you ever wondered what the inside of a computer looks like? Well, some students at Liberty are getting the chance to not only see the inside, but to fix them.

A new hardware class is being offered to students at Liberty. You can do online learning to receive an IT certification.

Currently, only eight people are taking the course but if you are interested in computer software, then this is the place for you.

Every day, during first and sixth hour, students with questions about Chromebooks can get it fixed by their own peers.

“We fix people’s Chromebooks for them, like we would in the real world,” said Nick Beseda (12).

If your Chromebook is damaged or if you just have a question about your Chromebook, then you should come to room 411 and 413 during first or sixth hour, you can even come during any lunch.

After you drop off your Chromebook, they will assess it and see what needs to be done. As soon as the Chromebook is fixed, someone will deliver your new and improved Chromebook to you.

Mr. Jarrett began this hands-on learning program that prepares students for the real world and it can even help them get further on their career path.

“So far, we have had great success but we are just starting. We are learning as we go.”

Most of the students taking this class are seniors but anyone can take it, no matter the age.

“I signed up last spring but anyone can be in it,” Mason Willie said (12).

Hopefully this program can continue to grow and  perhaps, in the future people will always be going to them for help with their Chromebook.

Mr. Jarrett hopes that he can expand the course and wants to offer other certifications that students can earn.

There is still a lot to learn, and they still need to figure out what works and what doesn’t, but next time your Chromebook shuts down, or your screen turns purple, stop by during lunch and have these students take a look.
