The girls varsity soccer team is on a roll this season, with their record at 4-3 and Francis Howell Central resulting in two of those wins.
The girls soccer team played Howell Central on March 24 as well as April 2. They played them twice, once for the STL Champions League, and another time, since they are in our GAC Conference. They won 4-1 game on March 24, but this time on April 2, the Eagles stepped it up with a shutout and won 3-0.
“It feels pretty good beating them again,” Madelynn Moyers (10) said.
As the Eagles were walking into this game ecstatic from their win earlier in the season, they played loud music as they walked to the field, excited to play.
The first half of the game started off slow, but the Eagles were always in their offensive half, attacking the field. Eventually the Eagles were able to score with 12 minutes left in the first half.
The Eagles knew they could score again and did with only three minutes left in the first half, Moyers took a corner kick and Nesta Caution (9) was able to score off of it.
As half time approached the girls had a boost of confidence, with not letting up any goals and were positive that they were going to win once again. Howell Central was still in the game and refused to let up any goals for almost the rest of the game, but the Eagles had other plans.
With around six minutes left, the Eagles secured their win, scoring a goal and cheering in victory.
The Eagles were happy about their win but do think that they need some improvements still.
“I think I played pretty good but I could have done better in the midfield,” Caution said.
As of now the Eagles played Cor Jesu and Francis Howell, after winning this game, but lost both of those games, making their record 4-3 so far in the season.
