The Liberty Belles have won state and have danced many styles of dance, but for the first time ever in school history, the Belles got Bros. The Belles and Bros dance was performed at the homecoming assembly on Friday, Oct. 7 and the crowd seemed to enjoy it.

Junior Patrick Stege was asked to be a Bro and he agreed to doing it because it seemed fun to him.

“It was a fun experience because I’ve never done it before. I’m definitely going to tell people about it,” Stege said.

They had started rehearsing the dance 3 or 4 weeks before the actual performance day and they met every Thursday after school. During the week of the dance, they had 3 consecutive practices and on Monday morning.

The day of the dance, Stege said he was really nervous, but before they had to go out and perform, senior Evan Fuhremann was joking around and it eased Stege’s nerves.

“It seemed silly to be nervous,” Stege said.

Nikki Casteel, junior, was in the dance as a Belle and she thought it was really funny for the guys to do some of the same dances as the dance team.

“It let the guys get an insight on what we do at practice,” Casteel said.

For the first guy/girl dance to happen at Liberty, it seemed to be a success.

“I hope it’s a tradition,” Casteel said.
