Breakdown Of The Block Schedule

SCHEDULE: The graphic on the left is a simplified version of the one released by the district. This schedule is completely different from the current in-person one, but there is no difference between the times that classes start and end on a day-to-day basis within the block schedule. Each day will just have different classes that fill in those time slots, alternating between “A” and “B” days. Each class period is 80 minutes long, with a mix of whole group lessons, small group lessons, independent lessons, and work time.
ACADEMIC SUPPORT: Academic Support will replace Academic Intervention (AI) as 4th hour. It will occur every other day on the “B” day and will be broken into two parts: 30 minutes for individual student check-ins assigned by teachers, and 50 minutes for teacher office hours.
LUNCH: Lunch break will be between the first two and the last two periods of the day, spanning for 60 minutes.
PASSING PERIOD: In addition, there will be 15 minutes between each period for students to transition from class to class and take a quick break.
VIRTUAL ACADEMY: “WSD Virtual Academy students follow the same bell schedule as students participating in In-Person Learning* (with specific log on times provided by the WSD teacher). Courses through Launch or FuelEd do not follow the bell schedule and the student will independently schedule time to login to those courses.” (Dr. Kiely)
