Coach Kleiber’s girls weight training class hopped on a bus at 8 a.m. on Feb. 11 to take a field trip to different gyms that are in our own community.

The first stop they made was at HIT Squad O’Fallon. This place helps people develop better kickboxing and jiu-jitsu skills. Next, the girls went to Burn Boot Camp. This place showed the girls a new workout to add to their own routines. Lastly, the girls visited Detox Yoga to ground themselves from a hard day of working out their bodies.

While at HIT Squad O’Fallon, the girls were able to get some gloves and receive an introduction to kickboxing. This place is open to anyone ages 5 and up.

Next, the girls visited Burn Boot Camp, which was a full-body experience for the girls. This place includes classes that are non-stop, cardio base classes that uses intense body workouts. All of the trainers there were very welcoming and made sure to keep attendees connected all the way throughout each session.

The final location was a hot yoga spot called Detox Yoga Winghaven. The girls got in touch with their inner soul and had an unforgettable experience. This class was very relaxing and had a different approach than what your normal gyms do.

After the girls weight training field trip, the following Monday on Feb. 14, Coach Kleiber asked three nutritionists give a presentation on proper ways to gain nutritional eating habits that the girls can use in their everyday lives. This trip and discussion served as a bonding experience for the class.

If you’re looking for a nice and friendly non-judgmental environment to work out and learn how to properly lift, weight training is for you.
