The annual Fastballs for First Responders game, originally scheduled for April 13 and then postponed to April 20, is now being postponed once again due to inclement rain. When a new date is decided, the event will be the fourth game Liberty has hosted to recognize all the police, fire, and paramedic teams in the Wentzville, O’Fallon, and Lake Saint Louis areas.

“We hold this event to bring recognition to the first responders in our community who do so much for us to keep us safe and help when needed,” said Student Council member Alexis Shuster. The Council has been in charge of hosting the event in past years.

Liberty’s Boys Varsity Baseball team will be devoting this game to the amazing people who protect our community. Anyone can attend the game and play the backyard games that will be available. All the first responders will be given free food and other treats.

“This event means so much to me because it gives our school an opportunity to recognize, and give thanks, to the people who put their lives on the line every day to help and protect our community,” Shuster explained.
