The Liberty boys golf team has had a strong start to the season so far.

A couple of weeks ago the Eagles defeated Fort Zumwalt North. Carter Ashby, a sophomore, says his expectations for the season is to “finish strong and we have a couple of guys that can make it to state.’’

One of the golfers who went to state last year, junior Trevor Campbell, says “My expectation is to end off the season with a good note and make it to state again.”

Not too long ago, Liberty finished fourth overall in the Warrenton golf tournament with junior Ben McCaffrey tied for 5th and freshman Dylan Handlan tied for 15th.

On April 20, the boys continued their winning ways as they defeated North Point 178-213 with McCaffrey taking the low round of the night.

They followed this up with another victory, this time in a close match against Washington, 174- 177.  McCaffrey shot the lowest round with 38 followed by senior Ro Razavi. The JV team also got the win tonight with the lowest round by freshman Logan Gannon 46.

The season seems like it’s going well— all players are in good spirits and have high expectations for the season.
