It may be the end of a chapter, but it’s also the beginning of new future for Liberty’s seniors.

Students gathered together in the gym Friday to say goodbye to the very first senior class on their last day of high school.

Mrs. Rosner said her own goodbyes as she welcomed the students into the gym for the final assembly.

Mrs. Rosner had the chance to say goodbye to the seniors that she has known throughout the last four years.

When the seniors first arrived at Liberty, they had no one to greet them into the school as they walked across the bridge. As they leave, they have three grade levels to say goodbye.

“When I did the walking back across the bridge, I kept replaying in my head, this isn’t a dream,” senior Danielle Meyers said, “I’m graduating, I’m moving on with my life and to something better and brighter.”

The band played as the seniors walked into the gym for the very last time. The seniors were given a chance to say goodbye to their favorite teachers and friends. Many students and teachers exchanged hugs as they said goodbye.

Seniors ended their high school careers by walking across the same bridge that they did when they first arrived at Liberty.

“It’s super exciting,” senior Maria Hufford said. “Because that was the very first tradition that ever happened at Liberty. We were walking to the school and now we’re walking away, so it’s very emotional for a lot of the seniors.”

Lady Liberty, Danielle Corgan, says goodbye to the seniors and passes down her title to a junior.

During the assembly, Liberty’s “Lady Liberty” title was also passed down from senior Danielle Corgan to junior Emma Ingle. The title represents someone who holds Liberty dear in their hearts, and want to share their passion with their peers.

Junior Emma Ingle received the torch from senior Danielle Corgan as next year’s Lady Liberty.

“I was so surprised,” Ingle said. “I feel like it will be hard to even touch Danielle’s school spirit, but I love Liberty so passionately and I hope to represent it well next year.”

The first senior class with go down in history as the first students to have been a part of Liberty High School. They will be missed by many and will never be forgotten.
