This new year gives us a ton of new opportunities for new trends. A lot of things are coming back and then there are some new trends. What do you think about the trends for this spring and summer?
Animal Print
The leopard print was trending all through 2023 and still is. It came again from the 1980’s. Not just only on accessories like glasses or shoes, a lot of brands are designing skirts, dresses and pants. The animal print stands for confidence, independence, and conformity.
Bows
Everywhere from the hair, to dresses, to shoes. Bows are trending in all sizes and they add cute details to the outfit. Hair ribbons made a notable appearance at the New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2024. Bows were an important accessory of the 1950 and 60s.
Sky Blue
This nice blue is great to mix into spring outfits for this year. It’s a calming color and connected with nature. Designers like Emporio Armani or Proenza Schouler showcased their looks in the fashion week 2024. Last year it was only 19% and at the fashion week this year it went up by 54%. Mixing up some different blue tones is also a good idea. Or another one is denim on denim.
Trench Coats
Spring without trench coats? Definitely not. Many designers are taking trench coats into their collection. They never get old and it’s always a good opportunity for a jacket, especially in beige or black. People like them because they are stylish but also practical. It’s an amazing business-casual look. A trend prediction for 2024 is the cropped trench coat.
Statement Belts
Designers are embracing diverse materials and textures, including beadwork, metallic studs, vivid prints, and 3D elements. They can style up a basic outfit and show an individual style and make the center piece out of every outfit. The inspiration is from the Y2K fashion trend.
Flat Shoes
No heels this season, it’s time for flats. Prada, Fendi, and Chanel, all the designers have beautiful flat shoes. They are a part of the French girl aesthetic and a reminder of ballet. So great and light for the spring. The slingback pointy toe is the most popular flat right now, followed from the ballet style flat.
