Kate Waltman is a sophomore at Liberty and went to Parkway West High School last year. She transferred schools because her parents wanted to live closer to where they work.

“I really miss Parkway because those were the kids I grew up with,” Waltman said.

Last year, at Parkway, Waltman was a cheerleader during the basketball season. This year, at Liberty, she ran cross country.

Waltman looks forward to her upcoming high school years at Liberty and hopes to make new friends as she gets used to the new school.

“Kate is really nice and fun to be around,” said Elizabeth Harvey, who is in her second hour.

Waltman takes advantage of all the opportunities Liberty has to offer, academically, socially and athletically.

“You wouldn’t really know Kate’s new because she’s really social,” said Kelcie Normand, one of Waltman’s new friends at Liberty.

Although Kate misses Parkway West, she is excited for the new start she is getting at Liberty.
