A unique tradition stays alive as this year’s publications seniors celebrate their hard work in the program at senior night.
Unlike other senior nights, publications tends to run things differently. Traditions such as signing the wall by your graduate year, getting a special award from the adviser, getting to eat foods, and even received senior letters from other classmates are involved.
This is the night all seniors look forward to.

Parker Sethaler (12) has been in the program for four years, counting through high school with publications is something he will never forget.
“Senior night was just a big full circle moment,” Sethaler said. “Being in publications has taught me something I will carry with me the rest of my life.”
Carrying the tradition, Kate Stroud (11), and Kelsey Altrup (9) worked together in preparing senior night for all the seniors. Seniors are left in the dark to be left with a surprise of emotion on senior night, which wouldn’t be possible without the members in the program.
“I really enjoyed planning senior night because I thought it was important to give them a special goodbye,” Stroud said. “I also liked that we were able to include a small message from some of the seniors parents.”
All seniors who showed up to senior night received a special, non-serious award from the adviser. These humorous awards filled the room with laughter, along with funny submitted photos and videos from family members.

Little rituals like guessing the baby photos of publications seniors were a fun way for seniors to bond a share memorable memories.
Not only videos and pictures gave memories, but also the senior banners seemed to give of a bittersweet moment. Seniors posed next to their banner for their annual senior pictures and some tears seemed to be shed as this was a sweet end to a beginning for most.
