Each Saturday, nearly 100 community members gather at the intersection of Mid Rivers Mall Drive and Suemandy Drive to participate in a weekly peaceful protest organized by Indivisible, an organization founded in response to the Trump administration.
Demonstrators waved handmade signs and props, encouraging driving passersby to honk in support. Several protestors voiced their concerns about actions of the Trump administration, including cuts to SNAP benefits and the then-recent party thrown by President Trump at Mar-a-Lago. Some stressed about the presence of political polarization in St. Charles County and the United States as a whole.
“It’s not about Democrats and Republicans,” said Danette Miller, who participates in the demonstrations each week. “It’s about morality. It’s about humanity.”
