Students who arrived to school on time on the morning of Feb. 7 were rewarded with free bagels from Bread Co.

This is not the first time that students were rewarded with breakfast. On Jan. 12, staff gave away donuts to those who were at school before the first bell.

“We are continuously striving to reach 90/90 attendance,” Ms. Sutherlin said. “We have given out donuts a few times and will continue to sporadically…We are hoping by randomly giving out items to those who arrive on time that we can reinforce the behavior and let them know we appreciate their efforts.”

Sophomore Caitlin Buckley happily accepted her bagel this morning.

“I think that kids would be disappointed that they didn’t get a bagel and they might wake up earlier and come to school sooner,” Buckley said.

Liberty is striving to improve it’s already great attendance. The hope is that students will hear of the rewards and will try to come to school sooner.
