Janelle Alvarez talks about how moving from a very diverse state to a predominantly white school has made her feel, especially from being Hispanic. She talks about her encounters she has had with her peers, and how she was judged for being “different”, and how she never felt as if she has a place and this new environment. Janelle and co-host Ella Quinney also give their opinions on name brands using Hispanic Heritage Month and Pride Month to gain attraction instead of doing it to support and help out these communities. This episode dives in to explain that people’s comments and assumptions can be hurtful and even if people are out of the “standards” they should still be treated like a normal person.
