Sixteen-year-old Hallie Tyarks is different than other teens her age. This is because she owns her own dog grooming business.

Hallie has always had a strong love for animals and dogs specifically.

“I was always the oddball out of my sisters because when we were younger they played with Barbie dolls while I always just played with toy horses or animals,” Hallie said. “I guess I was just born with the love for animals.”

Her love for animals grew more and more through the years as she wishes to continue this business as a lifelong career.

Her stepmom introduced her into this line of work and helped her get started with it. This is also something that Hallie has always wanted to do. Her dad even built a grooming area in their basement for her to work.

The business began around January and it started picking up into the summer. She has regular customers that come to her and she usually grooms 8-10 dogs a month.

Hallie works hard with her grooming business. In fact, she mainly works alone with the occasional help from her boyfriend.

“I don’t really help with the grooming but, her boyfriend does a lot,” Elli Tyarks said, who is Hallie’s younger sister.

She also isn’t looking to hire anyone right now because it is hard to find people with experience or have time to teach someone how the job is done.

Although Hallie receives a pretty good amount of customers, she would still like more. You can contact her for dog grooming at [email protected]
