Even if you think you don’t know who she is, there’s a good chance you’ve listened to her music before. Lana Del Rey is an alternative pop artist who has grown to be one of the most well known yet exceedingly mysterious artists of the music industry today. Since 2010, Del Rey has made a name for herself with hits such as “Summertime Sadness” and “Brooklyn Baby” and her saga is soon to continue with an expected upcoming new album release.
The artist first hinted at her upcoming release in January of 2024 at the Billboard Music Awards, when she mentioned “We’re going country!” and that the album, initially entitled “Lasso” would release in September of 2024. The concept of this album started off as an alternative country/southern gothic sound, but has since undergone several changes, including the name change to “The Right Person Will Stay,” and as of now, the official album title is “Stove.”
Due to several additions to the list of songs on the album, the release had been delayed to 2026, with reports suggesting early 2026. Following speculations, Lana Del Rey has so far officially released three new singles from the new album with titles like “Henry, Come On,” “Bluebird,” and her newest, “White Feather Hawk Tail Deer Hunter.” Though statements made by the singer led people to believe the album had a country sound, these singles follow a soft, indie-pop sound with a classical influence.
As far as the opinion of her fans, they are not to be fooled by her again. After multiple incidences of Del Rey teasing an album and not releasing it, fans are doubtful about the official release of this album whatsoever.
In February of 2026, after the release of “White Feather Hawk Tail Deer Hunter,” Del Rey posted a video on Instagram addressing some of her fans’ concerns. In the video she stated, “I know all of you are waiting for the record, there’s much of a process with that, and it takes a few months to make it (…)” Del Rey explained the delay of the release. In a more recent post, she ended the statement about her new singles with the statement “Stove… coming soon.” implying a soon release date.
With expectation high, doubt is up there too. The quality of her new album will be no debate for her fans, but the factuality of the release date is definitely controversial. Del Rey’s laid back persona when it comes to her career is just another thing that adds to her vibe. “Whether you listen to her directly or not, we are all fans of Lana,” according to Cosmopolitan.
