As the school year starts to pick up, many students are starting to think about how they are going to get involved within the school.
On Sept. 22, 20 clubs ranging from Lindsay Holmes and Student Council to Benjamin Creen and his Aviation club, staged their booths around the school handing out flyers and information about how to join the club, any upcoming events or meetings, and much more, to their fellow students.
This is the second club fair that Liberty has had. The first fair took place in the spring of last school year. As per decision by the school, however, the fairs will. now be held in the fall of every year.
The Leader In Me club organizes this annual event, and is run by Leader In Me coach and business teacher Kortney Holman.
“Leader In Me is a club that focuses on helping Liberty be the best place for our students and staff,” Holman said. “We focus on culture and leadership within our school.”
Although the club fair might seem like a small event that one person is able to run, it’s not. It takes coordination people from around the school including teachers, students, and club leaders.
Social Studies teacher Kirsten Hunchberger, along with other club leaders, helped Holman organize and run this event, in hopes that it will continue for many years to come.
“I’m sure the student leaders will want to do it each year to help other students around Liberty become more aware of the various clubs we have that may be a good fit for them to participate in,” Hunchberger said.
The Club Fair is a good opportunity for all students to try and get more involved around the school, joining clubs, making fundraisers, and many more, all with the same goal to try and get the students at Liberty to all come together.
