We all have something different in taste of music

Liberty High School is very diverse when it comes to music tastes. So, we thought it might be fun to make a playlist for everyone to learn more about each other better through their taste in music or genres. Try and make sure your songs aren’t too explicit if you decide to add to the playlist. We went around the school and found different students to interview about their favorite songs, artists, and genres. We got diverse answers when it came to their favorite artist and song.

Madalyn Breckenridge (12)
When asked her favorite song, she answered “How You Get the Girl” by Taylor Swift.

“I just love Taylor Swift because it’s a fun and upbeat song,” Breckenridge said. She also said she likes Gracie Abrams. She said her music is relatable. Madalyn says her favorite genre is pop because it’s fun to sing and dance to.

Logan Hedger (12)
“My favorite song is probably ‘Lean Wit Me’ by Juice WRLD. It’s just a classic,” Hedger said. He said he liked the song because he positively talked about his life. He feels like he can connect with it.

“I don’t know why I like it. It just talks about feeling, going into drug use, and how it affected him. It talks about his life in a different type of high-beat way. It’s not sad, but it also talks about real stuff.” He also said his favorite genre is alternative, like bands similar to Green Day.

Charley Orf (12)
“Right now, my favorite song is ‘I Hate Everything About You’ by Three Days Grace. Every morning when I walk into school. I play it in my earbuds. It’s just how I feel about life right now,” Orf said. Orf’s favorite artist is Christian Leave. She feels like she can relate to their music, and it has good vibes and instrumental. She says the genres she listens mostly to are classic rock and alternative.

Dalton Rice (11)
When asked what his favorite song is, he said “Come Over” by Tom The Mail Man. When we asked why he liked the song, he replied that it was very chill and pleasing to listen to.

“My favorite artist is Tom The Mail Man because bro has a beautiful voice, to be honest.” When asked what his favorite genre is, he said rap music.

Abigail “Abby” Dickerson (11)
Her favorite song is ‘Enchanted’ by Taylor Swift. It’s her favorite because of the main chores, and she is a good artist. Her favorite music artist is Taylor Swift because she liked her as a kid and she likes her new releases. Her favorite genre is anything new, any new albums, like pop music.

“I like whatever is new, like all the new albums released from the new popular artists,” Dickerson said.

Jordon Brown (12)
His favorite song is “Before I Forget” by Slipknot.

“Slipknot has a certain sound that multiple other metal bands don’t,” Brown said. “They do it very well. They have a good melodic sound that multiple other metal bands can’t do well.” His favorite artist is A$AP Rocky. A genre he listens to the most is hip hop and rap.

Alexis O’Mara (12)
Her favorite songs are “Under The Influence” by Chris Brown, “Mary on a Cross” by Ghost, and “Gimme What I Want” by Miley Cyrus. “Those songs just pump me up, especially on race days. I might listen to those songs to get me going. My music is mainly just all over the place,” O’Mara said. “Anything that pumps me up.” Her favorite artist is Miley Cyrus or The Weeknd, and her favorite genres are pop, rock, and rap.

Mason Putzler (11)
His favorite song is “Burning Pile” by Mother Mother. He likes that song because it has a good beat and lyrics. When asked who his favorite artist is, he said “Weird Al” Yankovic. His favorite genre is rock because he likes loud sounds.
