The club, Book2Brand, was created by Tanmayee Gogineni (10) to promote the library’s popularity. Gogineni wanted to help her favorite librarians by creating a club to make the library activities more known to the students.
The main sponsor of the club is Nikki Playle, who is also the head librarian. Playle was overjoyed when she heard Gogineni’s proposal.
“I’m so proud of Tanmayee and her efforts to help us make the library better,” Playle said.
The club is welcome for all types of students, especially those who are creative and interested in marketing.
“I thought it would be a great learning opportunity because we’re starting from the bottom,” assistant librarian Kimberly Taylor said.
Taylor says they have perfect attendance, but only with the same students. They want more people to discover what the library has to offer.
The students who join can grow with the club as they learn to make the library more accessible. There are many roles members of the club can partake in, such as Project Manager, Data Analyst, Digital Media Manager, Graphic Designer, and Communications Manager. These roles are already filled but will be open in the future.
The club cares about the opinions of the members, so it is very open-minded. They send out surveys from time to time so they can get varied information.
The sponsor is confident in the success of the club and is excited to help guide the students to find the lantern in the dark which is the library.
“The Books2Brand Club is all about making our school library better and more exciting,” Gogineni said.
