Many students revolve their lives around sports. James Good (10) soccer is one of them. As a freshman, Good was on the C-team soccer team, but during the summer he worked as hard as he could to be better than the rest.
“I wanted to work harder than everyone that was ahead of me, and I wanted to outwork them to get to the spot I am at now,” Good said. This year, Good made the varsity team, where he plays midfield and forward.
Good also plays baseball, though thinks he is even better at baseball than soccer. He had to balance out both of them to be the very best at everything he plays. Good also plays for his own soccer team called Strikers Elite.
Good studies soccer, and says one of his strengths is that he has an excellent soccer IQ. With strengths, however, come weaknesses. Good struggles with finishing his shots. He has attempted shots in the few games they have had so far but has not scored points yet.
Coach Luedecke never has to worry about Good giving his all and he always gives 100 percent.

“He had a lot of growth not just with his physical aspect, but he plays really hard and he offers something to our team,” Luedecke said. “{He is} also extremely physical, plays quick, and is a hard worker.”
Luedecke never has to worry about Good giving his all and he always gives 100 percent.
Luedecke projected Good to be on JV this year but he has had a great hardworking summer and he earned his spot on varsity. Luedecke says that Good has many strengths such as his quickness, speed, shooting, and being physical. His only weakness is that he is a young player, and as such, he has a lack of experience on the varsity level.
Good believes that the varsity level is a lot harder to play at. He says the competition is a lot harder from last year.
“How quick everyone plays and also the size of the players is a big difference too, everybody is just bigger and stronger,” Good said.
Good also looks up to Brendan Lukunka (12) and Cannon Nord (12) because he thinks they are the best players on the team.
While now Good is still working his way through the field, he is doing what he always does. He keeps pushing, keeps trying, and grows.
