Athlete of the Week: Kaelen Homar

Name: Kaelen Homar

Sport: Baseball

Grade: 10

Star Stats: .407 batting average, .500 on base percentage, 6 RBIs, in 30 Abs, & 0 ERA.

Why did you start this sport: Loved the game since I was little also came from watching it.

Pre-game ritual?: Hacky Sack.

Best memory ever from the sport: Middle school tournament in Ballwin.

Proudest moment in the sport: Hitting my first home run.

Biggest motivation: Seeing all these guys playing high level baseball and knowing that could be me one day if I really worked at it.

Are you planning to do this sport in the future/college: I’m planning on playing baseball in college.

How do you stay focused when you’re under pressure: I stay focused by just knowing it’s just baseball.

What advice would you give to someone starting this sport: My advice to give would be is just work hard in everything you do.

What is the most rewarding part about being an athlete in your sport: Most rewarding part is getting noticed.

What’s so different about you being an athlete compared to other athletes: I feel like I’m gifted at anything I do. Not saying I don’t put in work, I just feel like I have an advantage.

Your donation will support the student journalists of Liberty High School. For the 2025-26 school year, we are trying to purchase additional cameras and video equipment for our growing media program. We also plan to attend the national journalism conference in Orlando in November 2026.

Stella Nguyen, Reporter
Stella Nguyen is a freshman and this is her first year of Publications at Liberty. She was in Student Council for her last two years of middle school and is CPR certified. She plays travel flag football and wants to work in sports media and managing. You might see her capturing athletes on the field, interviewing and getting media from them. She is looking forward to these next four years of her life in and out of school. 
McKenna Brown
McKenna Brown, Reporter
McKenna Brown is a sophomore, this is her first year of Publications. She is excited to join the Publications team, and to take pictures for the sports teams. She is on the wrestling team at Liberty. Outside of school, McKenna enjoys sports, hanging out with friends, and music.
