Brayden McGowen (9) looks forward to performing against better competition while staying humble.
It’s what fuels me everyday,” McGowen said.
The freshman Eagles football team finished with a 2-6 final record with McGowen scoring five touchdowns, three of them being all in the second half of the season.

When he felt that he was at a disadvantage and needed room for improvement, McGowen planned to tryout for a 7-on-7 football team, 5P. 5P is a high-level non-tackle football team played in the winter and spring with a variety of athletes coming out to compete, looking for exposure and advanced training.
McGowen’s transition to 7-on-7 football challenged him to adapt quickly, emphasizing speed, precision, and strategic thinking.
McGowen got linked up with coach Anthony Searcy from 5P. Coach Aant is one of the top trainers in the St. Louis area working with NFL and UFL players.
“He was like a sponge as far as work ethic goes and picked up skills quickly,” Coach Aant said about McGowen.
McGowen’s commitment to training paid off on a big stage. His team’s hard work culminated in a thrilling national title win in Kansas City, a testament to their relentless effort and unity.
The team competed at an elite 7evens Football Tournament, a premier club, high school and youth 7 v 7 and flag football organization in the Midwest. With his club team taking home a national title at a top spectator event, it will surely have some college scouts’ heads turn.
The trophy McGowen takes home signals the beginning of a promising athletic career. Our community is witnessing a remarkable achievement and looks forward to following his journey as he continues to inspire and break new ground.
