As we all know in sports and in life, things can go wrong. You will face adversity every day big or small. For these athletes, facing adversity is not just something they go through. It’s an identity.
Coaches and players figure out what it’s like to be injured and how to prevent it as much as possible.
Caleb Clay (12) tore his meniscus in the second game of the season against Timberland, ending his season
“I felt defeated after hearing I was going to miss my senior year that I had worked so hard for,” Clay said.
Clay was a huge part of the Eagles defense playing cornerback for the eagles all four years of his high school career. However, he has gained a bunch of support throughout this process.
“The support system has been amazing, from my family to coaches to teammates,” he said.
Clay wasn’t the only one that suffered a knee injury. There has been many knee injuries this year, and there is one that was specifically devastating. Gabe White (9) suffered a torn ACL and his meniscus on both sides of his knee.
White torn his ACL and meniscus playing 7-on-7 football for 5P here in St.Louis, Missouri.
“I didn’t feel any pain, besides limping a little. Nothing in my mind thought is was as serious as it was,” White said after he tore his ACL.
These players continue to rehabilitate and plan to continue playing the sports that they love in the future.
