The halls of our school have been buzzing with holiday spirit as teachers participate in the annual door decoration competition. This year’s event has seen teachers transform the outside of their classroom doors into displays of Christmas themes.
This competition has become a staple in school tradition.
“For the annual door decoration competition, we just have all our teachers decorate the doors,” said Student Council member Alyssa Johnson (11).
Each teacher is tasked with decorating their door, with an added twist: each hallway has been assigned its own unique Christmas theme. This collaborative element encourages an immersive holiday atmosphere throughout the school.
The competition has two exiting awards.
“Our teacher winner wins a $25 gift card to Amazon and our hallway winners win donuts from Sweet Spot and hot chocolate,” Johnson said.
While teachers typically handle the decorating themselves, students are welcome to lend a hand.
“Aniyah (Wooten) decorated my door,” P.E. teacher Mr. Franklin said. The competition not only brightens the school mood in likes of Christmas break, but also a fun and engaging way to come together.
