They are not just brothers. They are the best of friends.
Mason and Ryan Derhake both are freshmen. Whenever and wherever they are, they have grown up together and have made a one strong bond that will only grow stronger. The two of them have played on every team together from baseball to soccer and now this past season they both played on the freshman soccer team here at Liberty.
As all sets of siblings have and even more with twins, there are challenges that will occur, but they do everything to get past those situations. The two of them will only grow from these kinds of moments. Both Mason and Ryan gave rather similar answers when asked about one another and their relationship and more.
Mason has always had a special relationship with his brother.
“It’s always been pretty good and helpful to have a relationship with him because it helps us get more done and gives us more time to spend together,” Mason said.
Having always played together on multiple sports teams, this past season was as special as they have come yet as they both played together on the freshman soccer team. Mason has always loved and appreciated the opportunity to have played with his brother all these years.
”It’s awesome having someone to compete and challenge myself with,” Mason said.
With the two of them always connected, they have found ways to bond together over all these years. Ryan and Mason both love to find ways to do things together.
Ryan Derhake (9) on the opportunities that present themselves for the two of them to bond
“We have a great time fishing and playing outdoors together,” Ryan said. “Doing things such as playing soccer and wiffle ball along with playing video games together.”
The two of them, best of friends, is a message in disguise of why you should never take your sibling(s) for granted and enjoy the time you have with them before the time is no longer around. Many siblings can hate each other or not be super close, but Mason and Ryan Derhake have shown the complete opposite of that and reasons why these opportunities only present themselves to all so many people in this world.
