Roblox has been a part of billions of kids’ childhoods. It was the game that everyone would talk about at school, play with their friends and go on when they got bored. Some remember being young and everyone would write their Roblox username on the corner of a piece of paper then rip it off to take home and add their friends. The magic that Roblox brought is now fading though. Fewer and fewer kids play now, many believe this is due to all of the new updates and restrictions when playing, which have both good and bad effects on the game.

Roblox started to slowly decrease in its players. Many old players agree Roblox isn’t as good as how it used to be, there’s not as many fun games to actually do stuff in according to Jordyn Purtle (9).

“Roblox now can’t compare to how the game used to be,” Purtle said. “Now all the games are just about brainrot and childish things.”

Roblox also has made new avatars changing everything about the old ones, which were the main part of the game, to customize and make your character look like you. Now a lot of the avatars can be childish, or even inappropriate.

Just recently Roblox made a chat ban making it so you have to verify your age 21+ to be able to talk and chat with people on the game which many people agree defeats the whole purpose about the game.

“Roblox use to be a game for kids that made it so people could make new friends and play games that involve using chat which is what made it fun, now it’s ruined for people,” Brayden Balthasar (9) said.  

Some say this is better to prevent predators from chatting with little kids and now older kids don’t have to deal with the younger ones as well but at the end of the day this game holds a lot of peoples childhood memories and now a lot of them are lost.
