Dardenne Prairie is proposing a new use tax, a local sales tax applied to purchases made from out-of-state sellers that is commonly associated with online purchases. This use tax would only be applied if a sale tax had not already been collected. The rate of said use tax would be the same as current local sales taxes.

The proposition wishes to utilize any funds generated to maintain and repair streets as well as support police safety services. Prop 1 is also intended to bring more activity to the local economy.
