Despite their strong play, the school’s freshman girls soccer team ultimately lost 2-0 in their first game against Zumwalt West Monday, March 30. They used everything they’ve learned in practice and played until the last whistle, more so showing great teamwork and effort.
Through this loss, they stayed mentally and physically strong and kept their heads held high.
“Everyone is so uplifting and nice so it makes it fun and a good place to be,” Tayler Johnson (9) said.
Their next game will be against Francis Howell. The team is placing their focus on several areas to prepare for their next game.

They are working on improving their teamwork and communication during practice, making sure every player understands their position and role on the field. Additionally, they are encouraging one another to stay positive and confident as they get ready for their next opponent. They believe that the best part of being on this team is being with each other and building bonds.
“I get to experience playing sports with people I wouldn’t usually get to spend the extra time with,” Isabella Thornton (9) said.
