With the promising class of 2029, the freshman baseball team is doing outstanding so far in their season. Before the game vs North Point, on April 21, they were undefeated with a record of 12-0-1 with a tie vs Fort Zumwalt West. Currently, they are 16-2-1 with a loss vs North Point and Timberland. North Point was their first loss ever of the season and it impacted them a lot.
North Point’s record as of May 6, is 15-14. Since North Point has so many losses to their name, the Eagles were a bit disappointed in their loss. However, they did put up a good fight, with the score being 5-3, with just making a few mistakes in the game.

“It was the last team I wanted to lose to,” Landon Fuchs (9) said.
The freshman coach of North Point, Karl Ladage, used to coach for the Eagles in 2023 for Liberty’s freshman team. The current seniors got coached by him and were very surprised that his team was able to beat the Eagles.
“It was crazy hearing that North Point beat our freshman team,” Coach Wheeler said.
From this loss, it powered the Eagles to do even better against them next time. The Eagles played them again, on May 2, in a WSD Freshman Tournament, and beat them 3-0.
“It felt good to beat them this last weekend,” Rocky Clark (9) said.
The freshman team has a lot of promise still, with their season going excellent and many of the players seeing minutes in JV and varsity games as well.
