Not everyone plays a sport.
Of those that do, not everyone commits to the lifestyle. The sweat, the dedication, the long nights and early mornings. Fewer make it their life. And a sparse few put in enough effort to be able to continue playing in college.
This spring signing day, eight student athletes stood out among the few to make this indent, and are committing to a university for athletics.
On Wednesday, May 6, at 6:30 a.m., athletes and their friends, families, and teammates gathered in the big gym, eager to declare their commitment to the next steps of their life.
“We have a lot of hard-working kids that have talents, and we tend to have at least 8-10 people each time we do it, and it’s exciting for me to see them go off and do their thing at college,” Cary Eldredge, LHS activities director, said.
After demonstrating the necessary work ethic to push through these past four years at Liberty, pushing themselves to be worthy of college athletics, these students are now committing to go even farther. Faster. Stronger. Proving day after day their determination.
And now they have new arenas to do it.
