Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live in a different country, where laws and culture are so much different than ours? If you have then let me introduce you to Carson Heck, a freshman at Liberty who just moved here from Germany.

Heck originally lived in Oklahoma, but then moved over to Germany because of his father’s military service. Heck went to an international school, which was quite hard. In fact, coming from Germany to hear him surprised at how easy it was compared to his old school. Before lunch every day Heck would come and tell me “bro this school is so easy.”

In Germany drinking laws are quite quite a bit different than in the US, allowing children to drink alcohol before they turn 21. So since his dad was a bar enthusiast and Carson would spend lots of his time going to them.

He hasn’t just been to Germany. In fact, he traveled all across Europe in his stint there, going to places like Italy and Spain.

Surprisingly, Heck speaks much better Spanish than German. He went straight to Spanish 3 at the beginning of the school year but because of the intimidating seniors, he dropped out and chose to do woodworking instead. He says he can at least pass German 1 but that has yet to be tested.

Heck spends his Soar time in the 400 halls eating his lunch and then goes down to the library for an intense game of checkers. He is also in the table top games club from 2:30 to 3:30.

Heck is a top student having almost straight A’s. Overall, he is a great person and anyone would be lucky to have him around as a friend.
