One night that student athletes look forward to most is senior night. On Saturday, Jan. 11, Liberty hockey celebrated their seniors.
Parents got to get on the ice next to the bench for the ceremony. All the players lined up on the blue line to show appreciation for their players.

This year Liberty only had two seniors, Dylan Handlan, and Ben Teismann of North Point. They got to skate up and give their parents a bouquet of flowers and get pictures taken to celebrate this accomplishment.
“It was a big win on senior night,” Handlan said. “It’ll be a memory I have for the rest of my life.”
After the ceremony, Liberty and Holt started warm-ups, followed by the game.
In the first period, Liberty got the only goal. At 10:03, captain Lucas Kempf (11) scored his first of the night, with the assist going to Mason Nickler (9). There were no penalties given in the first.

In the second, Kempf once again opened the scoring at 14:03 with an unassisted goal. Holt responded at 9:06 and 7:04 with two goals back to back. At 1:51, Kempf responded with his third of the night, getting a hat trick, assisted by Connor Casella (10). There were no penalties this period.
In the third period, Holt opened the scoring at 10:17. At 8:07, Cam Winkler (10) scored the fourth goal for Liberty, with Garrett Katz (10) and Dylan Handlan (12) getting the assists. At 3:46, Handlan got the game-winning-goal, which was unassisted. Holt closed the scoring at 1:26 with the final goal of the game.
“My favorite part tonight was the win…and the cookie cake after,” Teismann said.
After the game and once everyone was changed, there was cake for everyone to celebrate Dylan and Ben.
This game improved Liberty’s record to 8-8-2, and they are now sixth in their division.
