The season has just kicked off, and the freshman C-team already shows signs of potential. Their opening game against Howell Central on Tuesday drew plenty of excitement from fans, who watched a close matchup that kept everyone on the edge of their seats.
While the final score wasn’t in their favor with Howell Central taking the win 38-35, the performance revealed key strengths and highlighted the promise of a team ready to grow. If one thing is certain, the C-team is shaping up to have many victories ahead.
Coach Parks praised the group’s effort, especially considering it was their first game together.
“I think we did pretty well for our first game,” Parks said. “The players were motivated, and I think we did a great job.”
As for what fuels the team, Parks weighs in with, “to keep the team motivated, we really drill in the idea ‘one to hit.’” This attitude for the new season shows the team’s determination and focus going into the new season.
It seems that the first game loss is only going to improve the competitiveness up to the max with a fierce headspace that drives and fosters determination in the freshmen players. All of this is setting our C-team up for a wild season.
“I think there are things our team can improve on but we did good, I think we did really good.” Kaleb Adams (9) said. “A loss is a loss, but we keep going.” This shows the group’s strength and determination, even through the challenges, there is persistence that will shine through the season.
C-Team is looking forward to turning these early lessons into the greatest successes into their football careers.
Coach Parks talks about a moment that stood out to him.
“The way our O-line was moving the ball, where they were blocking,” Parks said. “They did a great job. Good energy in the beginning.”
