Curling is one of the most unique sports in the Olympics. The objective of Curling is to have the most stones closest to the Button(middle of the House/target). The stones are 40 lbs of granite with a handle on the top to give the stone rotation so it will curl. In the team event there are four athletes per team. The captain of the team or the “Skip” is at the house giving the throwers a target to aim for. Every teammate throws two stones including the skip. Before the match begins the two teams throw a stone as close to the button as possible. Whoever is closest will get “Hammer” which is the last thrown stone of the end. The difference between Team Play and Mixed Doubles is there are only two athletes per team, one man and one woman. There are only five stones thrown per team each end, the first and last by one teammate and the middle three by the other. Sweden had the most medals with two gold, then Canada also had two but only one gold and one bronze. Following Canada was Switzerland with one silver and one bronze medal.
