
The Nordic Combined is ski jump and cross country skiing, generally the 10 km. There is the individual normal hill/10 km, individual large hill/10 km, then team large hill/2×7.5 km. In the team large hill/2×7.5 km both teammates get one jump, the combined score of both athletes determines the starting position for the race. This sport tests athletes’ explosiveness with the ski jump and their endurance with the cross country skiing. The Nordic combined is the only sport in the Olympics that only men participate in. Norway dominated this event earning three golds. Austria placed second with two silvers and one bronze. In third was Finland with one silver and two bronze.
