Cross Country Skiing is the most physically demanding Winter Olympic sport. The distance for most of the disciplines is anywhere from 10 km to 50 km. The only exceptions are Sprint and Relay. The skiathlon is a unique discipline where for the first half of the race the athletes race with classical technique then they take a “pit stop” and change their skis and poles to finish the race with freestyle. Johannes Høsflot Klæbo had an insane six gold medals leading the way for Norway to be in first place for Cross Country Skiing with 14 total medals followed by Sweden with 10, then tied for third with 3 medals between the USA and France.
