Ms. Taylor, a business and marketing teacher, has been awarded the Missouri DECA Diamond Award. This award is given to DECA advisers for their excellent work in their school district. Nominated by multiple advisers, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills, inspiring her students to explore new opportunities.

In the past year, DECA has had many successes, one of which was that two students had made finalists at the International Competition, making Liberty the only school in Missouri to place first, last year. All of which could not have been possible without Ms. Taylor’s efforts.

“Since she has taken over DECA, she has put Liberty DECA on the map statewide as well as nationally, due to the number of students excelling in the competitions,” Ms. Muench, the assistant DECA sponsor, said.

Ms. Taylor is known for being a funny and compassionate teacher and always willing to lend out a helping hand. She motivates students to go out of their comfort zones, hoping to have a lasting impact on students and their journeys. It makes her proud to see students put 110% of their effort into competitions.

“Being a DECA advisor is amazing. I really like to see students use the skills that they have learned in class throughout the year in competitions,” Ms. Taylor said.

With all that in mind, every student should try DECA because of new learning opportunities and new experiences you can gain. These opportunities are possible by Ms. Taylor.

“She is determined and hard-working. She is a great DECA leader,” Ms. Muench said.
