Since the departure of former superintendent Dr. Curtis Cain at the end of the 2021-2022 school year, Dr. Danielle Tormala has served as the superintendent for the Wentzville School District for just under two years now.
Tormala’s tenure has quickly come to an end, as stated in an email sent to Wentzville staff early this morning.
“l am writing to announce my sabbatical, effective immediately, as well as my retirement as superintendent of schools of the Wentzville School District, effective at the end of the current school year,” Tormala said.
It is unclear as to why Tormala will be stepping down as superintendent at the end of the school year. It was stated that this decision was made collaboratively with the Board of Education.
“Serving this incredible district has been an immense honor. I am deeply proud of the work we have accomplished together,” Tormala said in the email.
As of now, the current Deputy Superintendents, Mr. Brian Bishop and Dr. Jeri LaBrot will act as co-interim superintendents until further notice.
This is an ongoing story and will be updated when more information is available.
